senator marco rubio taking aim at trump again tonight. and hillary clinton shifting her message, in a line aimed at trump, as well. is she turning to the national race now? and this evening, from a trump rally in virginia, that's a "time" magazine photographer taken down by a secret service agent. our team on it all, and abc's tom llamas, leadings off from georgia. >> reporter: tonight, on the eve of super tuesday, tension erupting at a trump rally in virginia. >> get them out of here, please. >> reporter: a large group of student protesters marched out of the event. as they pass, a photographer from "time" magazine, thrown to the ground by a secret service agent. watch again. the agent's hands around the photographer's neck. then, with the man still on the ground, an angry exchange of words. the secret service now investigating. but that wasn't all. trump singling out another protester, asking if she's mexican. >> are you from mexico? are you from mexico?

punch line. >> reporter: today's confrontations coming as the republican front-runner finds himself in the middle of a new controversy. dodging a question about whether he will reject the support of former ku klux klan grand wizard dave duke david duke. >> would you say, you condemn them and you don't want their support? >> well, i have to look at the group. i mean, i don't know what group you're talking about. >> i mean, i'm just talking about david duke and the ku klux klan here. >> i don't know david duke. i don't believe i've ever met him. i'm pretty sure i didn't meet him. i don't know anything about them. >> reporter: today, trump understood fire, saying he didn't understand the question. >> so, let me tell you, i'm sitting in a house in florida with a very bad ear piece that they gave me. and you could hardly hear what he was saying. >> reporter: but trump clearly knows who david duke is. listen to what he said in 2000. >> david duke just joined, a bigot, a racist, a problem. i mean, this is not exactly the people you want in your party. >> reporter: and friday, trump said this. >> i didn't even know he

in my held, just, for him. don't repeat it. just don't say it, because the next day, media, all they will talk about is that. but he repeated. >> mrs. trump telling cnn that afterward, she did share her thoughts with her husband. we turn next tonight to the democrats, hillary clinton, fresh off her rout in south carolina, hoping to do the same in other southern states tomorrow. bernie sanders hoping to win his home state of vermont and several others, to stay alive in this race. and tonight, mrs. clinton with a new response to donald trump's make america great message. abc's cecilia vega in virginia now. >> all right, everybody, fired up! >> reporter: tonight, hillary clinton hoping to sweep the south and win super tuesday. >> if you go out and vote for me tomorrow, i will stand up and fight for you throughout this campaign, no matter who the republicans nominate. >> reporter: in virginia, with just hours left until voting begins, clinton feeling confident.

>> just happy to be in virginia, working hard for every single vote. >> reporter: she's riding a wave of momentum after her south carolina blowout, winning 86% of the black vote. that's even more than president obama won in 2008. now, she's looking for a repeat tomorrow in states like georgia and alabama, where african-americans make up half of all democratic voters. >> and tomorrow, this campaign goes national. >> reporter: bernie sanders now facing tough questions about the future of his campaign. >> we got decimated, but eddecimated. but we got killed. >> reporter: while he packed in the crowds today -- >> we can win. no question. here in minnesota. if we have a turnout. >> reporter: the vermont senator logged just two stops on the campaign trail. while clinton and her husband made a super-sized super tuesday push, visiting three different states and the eight different cities. both clintons now have their

donald trump. >> when the republicans say they want to make america great again, she doesn't agree with that. she said, we never stopped being great. >> i don't think america has ever stopped being great. what we need to do now is make america whole. >> reporter: and just tonight, the state department releasing the final batch of hillary clinton's e-mails from her pril vat server. more than 50,000 panels in all. and while she's certainly glad to have this chapter behind her, she heads into super tuesday with that fbi investigation still hanging over her head, david. >> cecilia vega with us tonight. thank you. let's get right to abc's jonathan karl, who has the telestrator, the map. we want to help voters at home tonight know what to look for. can donald trump be stopped tomorrow? >> reporter: the short answer is yes, but it won't be easy. let's get to the map. the key state for marco rubio and ted cruz is texas. the biggest delegate prize of all on tuesday. it's ted cruz's home state. he absolutely must win. but marco rubio's got to be above 20%, or he'll get none of the delegates. in all the other super tuesday

where donald trump is trailing. they've got to at least keep it close in the others. >> jon, on the democratic side tonight, we saw what hillary clinton did over the weekend, same question for you. can she be stopped? >> reporter: yes, but it's even harder than stopping donald trump. vermont, sanders' home vote, massachusetts, he'll probably win up there. but he's got to find a way to beat or be very close to clinton down south. and he just got trounced in south carolina, down there. if he gets beat again in the south, it will be virtually impossible for him to catch up. >> all right, jon karl, see you tomorrow night. can't wait to join us. i want to show everyone at home the weather maps tonight. but the weather could play into the voting tomorrow. take a look. severe storms in oklahoma tonight. tomorrow, moving across arkansas, all the way to georgia. the weather team telling us 13 million people in its path. at the northern edge, snow from the great lakes into maine, including vermont. we'll be watching that. stay with abc news for full coverage on super tuesday, with special editions of "good morning america" and a full hour

then, of course, george and the entire powerhouse political team will all be here on the air, beginning at 10:00 p.m. eastern tomorrow night. in the meantime tonight, we do move on now, to other breaking news this evening. a shooting in cafeteria. one student wounding two others. two more hurt, trying to get out of the way. the shooter then running into the woods, where he was caught by a police canine team. that shooter, just 14 years old. and abc's alex perez on the shooting that broke out at lunchtime. >> reporter: tonight, ohio investigators hunting for answers. >> he just pulled out his gun and started shooting. >> reporter: after lunchtime turned to horror today at madison high school outside cincinnati. authorities say a 14-year-old boy, a student at the school, allegedly stormed into thearmed with a .38 caliber pistol, and opened fire. >> the first shot went, and then it kind of paused for five seconds, and then it went bang, bang, bang. >> reporter: two students struck

police say, moments after, the teenaged gunman took off on foot, but officers quickly captured the suspect. >> he was apprehended up on top of the hill, it appears still on school grounds. he was arrested at that point. >> reporter: the attack sending this community into a panic. frantic parents gathering at a nearby gas station as authorities secured the school. investigators now working to determine a motive. and david, the 14-year-old suspect has been charged as a juvenile, with two counts of attempted murder. authorities say the victims are very lucky. none of the injuries are life threatening. david? >> alex perez with us tonight. alex, thank you. next, to virginia this evening, and the rookie police officer killed on her first day on the job. ashley guindon sworn in just the day before. she and two other officers responding to a domestic incident, meeting gun fire. all three were hit. the shooter, army staff sergeant ronald hamilton. all three officers rushed to the hospital, where fellow officers showed their support.

we turn next here this evening to breaking developments in the ere run andrewerin andrews case, taking the stand today. suing a hotel and her stalker for $75 million after she was secretly filmed in her room. abc's eva pilgrim with her emotional testimony today. >> i saw it for two seconds and i was like, oh, my god. and i shut it down. >> reporter: erin andrews breaking down in court today, as she relived the moment she discovered a naked video of herself online. >> dad, i'm naked all over the internet. i don't know what it is. >> reporter: the popular sportscaster and cohost of "dancing with the stars" is suing the owner and manager of this nashville marriott, where she was secretly filmed by a stalker in 2008. the video has been viewed nearly 17 million times. andrews' mother, paula, described consoling her daughter. >> there was no calming her down. it's -- it's a nightmare that doesn't stop.

suing the man who filmed her, michael david barrett, a former insurance executive. she claims the hotel made it easy for him to track her down and film her on his cell phone through a peephole he modified. >> i picked up the house phone and i called the operator and asked, could i have erin andrews' room. they connected me. >> reporter: the hotel calls barrett a criminal who tricked them. barrett pled guilty to stalking in 2010 and was sentenced to 30 months in prison. >> they could have stopped this and i'm so angry. >> reporter: david, erin andrews wasn't the only woman michael barrel let secretly recorded in a hotel room. he posted at least ten more videos online. david? >> eva, thank you. we turn next tonight to the controversy leading up to the oscars, and taking center stage the moment host chris rock walked out. he did not waste any time. chris rock tackling the controversy right out of the gate. >> well, i'm here at the academy
